STABILIZED WOOD PEN BLANKS These beautiful blanks save time and eliminate much of the risk of working with natural wood on a small scale. The select hardwoods are “stabilized” through a process that fully impregnate the wood pores and bers with resin. Stabilization makes the wood more uniform, durable and much easier to nish, because it eliminates the uneven penetration caused by di ering hardness and grain patterns. These high quality blanks turn just like regular hardwood, but we do recommend that you always use well sharpened tools. Stabilized blanks polish up nicely using 1200 grit sandpaper, but many turners go as high as 3000 grit for a super ne, bright nish that really makes a statement.
